Day 2 - Thinking back on my day, where can I see God working on my behalf? Laughingly, I see that God has carried me through to the last day of summer vacation. Back in my teacher career days, this was a sad, sad day for me. Today, I see this as a hugely successful day. My boys are going back to school tomorrow. Tomorrow, I can breathe knowing that I didn't lose them (not even once) during the summer. The only ER trip this summer was not for them. I, with God's strength in me, managed to keep them safe, uninjured, unbroken, and happy. I can breathe knowing that they will be in good hands...no, great hands while they are at school. I can breathe knowing that I can care for my own needs again, without wondering if the house going to be flooded or burned to the ground while I take a shower, without wondering if I remembered to turn the garage door power off, and locked the basement door, locked the fridge and pantry doors, locked the upstairs bedrooms, locked the laundry room door...locks, so many locks. I can breath again knowing that I did not break. Not this time satan! I did not break praise God. More so, I had quite a bit of fun with my boys. We had playdates, adventures to Chick-fil-a, Mejer, and libraries. We turned the backyard slide into a water slide, painted sculptures, and made nesting dolls with paper and markers. Colton learned how to upload videos created from PowerPoint to Youtube. Lucas learned how to plant and water a garden (which produced a healthy amount of jalapenos and cilantro)! I made it to the end of summer vacation. Thank you God for working on my behalf. "I can do all things, through Him who gives me strength. " Philippians 4:13, including getting my boys safely through summer vacation unharmed and unlost. |
AuthorI am Maria Jordan, founder of Caring Hearts and Voices. I started this organization to honor my mom, my sons, and my own story. We all have gone through difficult times. Times where we needed support from family, friends, and the people around us. For me, music was often a greater source of comfort during those times. Caring Hearts and Voices is dedicated to providing support to people in need through music. How can our Caring Hearts and Voices be there for you? Archives
